In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of
the waters.
And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
-- Genesis 1: 1-4

Biblical Portrait is a photographic essay on topics from The Bible. There are no sunsets and glorious landscapes in this essay — the world has been blessed with enough of that on calendars and other attempts to translate this holy book with images.
This essay uses people and expressions to transcend meaning. It's about life and living. The philosophy behind this approach is begotten from The Bible itself. If you recall, the first book, Genesis takes a few paragraphs and creates the earth, animals, man, woman and all this glory. The rest of the Old and New Testament are no longer about the love trees and oceans. The pages are all about people, life and ways to live. Therefore, since the first few hundred words of The Bible have been so heavily covered by photographic interpretation, Biblical Portrait is working on the rest (of The Bible).
